PC Assemble

The PC Assemble was held on 20 November 2025 by conducting a PC Maintenance to demonstrate the correct flow of dissembling and assembling a personal computer to students. After the demonstration, students were given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by performing the disassembly and assembly process themselves. At the same time, assistants were present to guide students and provide feedback to ensure that each step was carried out correctly and gain the acknowledgement of assistants about the correct step.

After that, Quiz 1 was conducted on the same day to ensure the students level of understanding of computer hardware within a PC system.

Step of dissemble

  1. Open the casing carefully
  2. Unplug all the cables
  3. Remove the power supply from the casing
  4. Take out the RAM from the motherboard
  5. Remove the hard disk from it's slot
  6. Detach the cooling fan from the CPU

Step of assemble

  1. Attach the cooling fan to the CPU
  2. Place the hard disk into it's designated slot
  3. Put the RAM into the motherboard slot properly
  4. Fit the power supply into the casing
  5. Connect all the internal cables properly
  6. Close the casing securely

Quiz 1 are conducted based on the information learnt in PC Assemble:

Students were asked to fill in the name of several specific components used and the steps to dissemble a personal computer. This helped students to have a stronger understanding and acknowledge what they learnt.

Reflection

From the PC Assemble activity, I gained hands-on experience in identifying computer hardware components and understanding the correct procedures for disassembling and assembling a PC. This activity helped me to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting and improved my confidence in handling computer hardware.

The activity could be improved by providing more time for hands-on practice and allowing each student to assemble a PC individually. By providing clearer step-by-step guidelines or reference materials would also help students follow the procedures more easily.

In my opinion, the PC Assemble activity enhanced my technical skills and increased my awareness of the importance of careful handling and proper maintenance of computer hardware. It also motivated me to learn more about computer systems and hardware-related topics.
